Roald Dahl: anti-Semitism tainted his work



“Associated with antisemitism and not regarded as an author of the highest reputation,” was the damning verdict of the Royal Mint on author Roald Dahl,( who wrote James and the Giant Peach,

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda). The sub-committee that decides who gets to be honored with commemorative coins chose not to nominate Dahl in 2016, the year of his centenary.
